Clean Energy: Yes on 87

from "Public Policy Update", Breathe Easy news magazine, Fall 2006/Winter 2007 )

The American Lung Association of California is getting behind a statewide initiative on the November ballot that would help reduce our dependence on petroleum. Proposition 87, called the Clean Alternative Energy Act, would fund a 10-year, $4-billion effort to reduce petroleum usage in California and increase renewable energy and energy efficiency technology research, development and commercialization. The initiative is designed to capture excess oil company profits and use them to develop and fund alternative fuel and energy technologies.
