Research holds the key to better treatments and possibly even cures for lung diseases
The American Lung Association of California grants up to $1 million each year through our scientific, peer-reviewed research program. We primarily fund basic research, which forms the building blocks for future discoveries. We review applications from researchers across the state and grant up to $50,000 to research projects that meet our guidelines. In addition, the American Lung Association of California provides $6,000 scholarships to master's level nursing students who are pursuing careers in pulmonary care.
We also invest in the American Lung Association's nationwide network of Asthma Clinical Research Centers, the country’s largest not-for-profit network of clinical research centers dedicated to asthma, including one in California at the University of California, San Diego.
